Even among those clinicians who are transgender are afraid of TRA backlash if they were to say 'hol' up' to a patient even once. Even at gender clinics, there's enormous pressure to rubber stamp transitions and to not make sure that transitioning is the right choice for a patient. There was a 60 Minutes special not too long ago about detransitioners, and they had a segment where they interviewed a gender clinic doctor. That includes people who regret transitioning and want to go back to their birth sex. Anything which does not affirm them is seen as a threat.
I think this also extends to all forms of genderspecials, not just the TRAs and transtrenders. TRAs expect the rest of the world to do nothing but praise them and flatter them endlessly, to agree with anything they say, and to comply with their every demand. If you switch out 'the person' for the concept of gender affirmation, a lot of things snap into place. Its probably the most creative, fun and subversive music video to come out since, well, 'MONTERO. A cult of personality uses all kinds of social engineering techniques to instill unquestioning flattery and praise of a person, usually a political leader. Referencing Lil Nas Xs ongoing legal battle with Nike, its kind of a 'Shawshank Redemption, but make it gay' moment, featuring hot pink prison uniforms, Jack Harlow as a corrupt guard and an instantly-iconic nude shower dance scene. I've been likening it to a 'cult of gender affirmation.' Not as a religious cult, but akin to a cult of personality.
